Magazine has lots of things to look forward to in the spring of 2008
True it's been like calm waters to a very large swell on which path
Kayak Fishing® magazine should take?
I once posted we needed something like the NRA to fight for are Kayak
fishing rights because of all the closures to fishing. Conservation,
Closures, Marine Reserves are great. But to put a protected area dead
center where access is limited to anglers is wrong.
Example, Scorpion Anchorage, Santa Cruz Island, California Marine
Reserve protected area close to fishing was put dead center where Island
packers would drop off anglers to fish from shore or kayak around the
island. Now you must walk or paddle over a mile either way before you
can start fishing.
They could have put the Marine Reserve in another location on the island
that would better serve as a protected area and not block off anglers
from the only place they can camp and fish on the Island.
We need someone to fight for are rights and I feel Kayak Fishing®
Magazine can help in a very big way to help keep are rights to kayak
fish. Like organizations that have been fighting for are rights to fish,
The American Sport Fishing Association,
United Anglers of California, United
Anglers of Southern California. I also wish to thank other parties not
listed that fight for are rights to fish. With out them we wont be able
to kayak fish.
